MAIN COURSE TUTOR:
Liz Turner MA (Hons) English Language and Literature, Cambridge/RSA Dip TEFLA
Liz has been a CELTA trainer since 1997 and is also an Assessor for the CELTA award. In 1997 Liz helped establish the CELTA course at Dundee College in Scotland, where she taught a wide range of classes and levels between 1993 and 2008. Before this, she taught English in Crete for 5 years. She has worked as a freelance CELTA trainer in the UK, Sicily and Lebanon. She also works with candidates for the Trinity TESOL Diploma. In her free time, Liz enjoys music, photography, travel and taking long walks by the nearest river or lake.
ASSISTANT COURSE TUTOR:
Jen McAlinden MA (Hons) Spanish and Linguistics, CELTA, Dip TESOL
Jen graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 1999 and has been teaching English since 2001. During this time she has worked in Thailand, Spain, Japan and the UK, teaching both adults and very young children. From 2004-2009, she was based at Dundee College in Scotland, where she taught ESOL learners and became a CELTA tutor on full time and part time courses. Whilst in Dundee she also worked on Introduction to TEFL courses at Abertay University. From 2010 – 2011 Jen held the position of Director of Studies at a British Council accredited language school in Preston, England, but has now returned to Scotland where she intends to settle permanently. In her free time, Jen enjoys photography and other creative hobbies. She is also a keen pub quizzer!
