Language training in Geneva and elsewhere
Language school or centre of linguistic competence?
Let’s set down first the features which are similar: in both cases it is a question of training professional people in the use of a new language, by means of one or several pedagogical tools, often referred to as teaching methods. The programmes are given out for their duration one-on-one (private lessons) or in small, homogeneous groups.
But the comparison stops there. Indeed, a centre of linguistic competence calls upon trainers and coaches most frequently coming from the professional world. Their qualities as native speakers, linked to proven professional knowledge, will be decisive for the learner. This is as much to maintain a high level of motivation as to inspire in them the linguistic reflexes in the new language which are specific to the exercise of their profession.
A centre of linguistic competence will have the permanent concern of following the forward momentum of a programme, so as to optimise it constantly, with an eye on the return on investment of the partner company.
The centre of linguistic competence will run a language programme to lead the learner to the required level of confidence, be it for everyday of professional conversation. It will call on language coaches, who will take over from the trainers, putting the learner in the real situation.
It is important to note that the language programme must run to its end, so that the desired objective is actually met, failing which, efforts made will come to a dead-end. Likewise, if it is little used, the newly acquired language will have to be kept up by means of short maintenance sessions.

Our trainers
Thanks to their know-how and their natural empathy, our trainers and coaches understand the challenges for learners, and help to overcome them, using appropriate tools and pedagogical systems. Building on the knowledge of the learner so as to give them confidence, they go straight to the heart of the subject by dialoguing with them in their professional language.
Playing the role of a real leader, our coaches and trainers can maintain a high level of motivation in their learner.
Before giving a presentation in Zurich or at the headquarters of the parent company in Chicago, a language coach coming from the working world will put the learner in the real situation, so that he will be able to set out his/her arguments to convince the customers or management.
Supercomm trainers are professionals hired on a long-term contract. They follow a very detailed training course. The language training courses which they subsequently dispense are supervised and audited regularly by our tutors.
